LAUREL BONE & JOINT CLINIC IS NOW
A DIVISION OF SOUTH CENTRAL REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER
 
The physicians and staff at Laurel Bone & Joint Clinic are pleased to announce that Laurel Bone & Joint Clinic is now a division of South Central Regional Medical Center. Thomas Blake, M.D., Steven Nowicki, M.D., William Morrison, M.D. and Danny Michael, M.D., the orthopedic surgeons who have provided orthopedic care in the past, will continue to see patients at the same location.
 
“Health care has become an extremely complex industry. Physicians do not need to worry about the day to day business operations of the practice. They went into the field of medicine to take care of patients,” Doug Higginbotham, President and Chief Executive Officer at South Central Regional Medical Center, said. “This change in ownership will allow us to utilize the resources we have to manage clinic operations so they can devote their time to patient care.”
 
Numerous other clinics in the community are now owned by South Central Regional Medical Center for exactly the same reason. “The transition at the clinic will be seamless. Our goal is to continue to provide an environment where the orthopedic surgeons can provide the best care possible to their patients,” Higginbotham said.
 
South Central is currently in the process of recruiting additional orthopedic surgeons to join the team of physicians at Laurel Bone and Joint Clinic.  Effective December 31, 2012, Dr. Blake retired from performing surgery at South Central, but he continues to maintain his office based practice. “As physicians retire, it is important for us to add excellent physicians to the practice so that the standard of care does not change,” Higginbotham concluded.
