Sleep Apnea and Depression Part 2

Posted on August 17, 2015

“The more frequently people snore, gasp, or stop breathing for short period of times while they sleep, the more likely they are to show symptoms of depression.”

Rhonda McNair, certified counselor at SCRMC, explains that they ask about sleep patterns for depression patients since lack of sleep is a big contributor to depression.

Sleep apnea is a common sleep disorder that can be treated at the South Central Sleep Center. Patients who undergo treatment report that they feel much better and wake up rested.
