South Central Regional Medical Center is pleased to welcome Brett Cutrer to the South Central Behavioral Health Services. Brett is a behavioral health therapist who specializes in child and adolescent counseling. After graduating Mississippi State, he and his wife moved back to the area where he started working for Ellisville State School as a case manager and psych tech. He then went to pursue his masters at William Carey. Brett’s previous training and experience in the area of childhood trauma prepared him for this role. Cutrer states, “…it’s a very structured way of providing therapy that assists with processing what’s happened and building from there.” He also mentions that he works not only with the children, but also the families, too. One in five adults have a behavioral health condition, and the rates of youth depression are on the rise. However, Brett says help is available.
