Basics of all Training Programs

8 Week Program Begins February 2, 2021 | Classes held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4pm – 5pm

Why is this program important? To teach the basic lifting techniques the young athlete will need to be safe in their future programs.

  • They will learn the Push, Pull, Squat, Clean and Core movements.
  • To teach students proper gym etiquette for the next generation of athletes.
  • To allow them high-level coaching in a high-level facility normally not offered to 11 year olds and 12 year olds.

Your athlete will be coached by, Derek “Spike” Richards USAW Olympic Coach, 2016-2017 Miss State Weightlifting Champion, 2015 Silver Medal National Championship Weightlifting, 2017 Bronze National Championship Weightlifting

Who is this program for? South Central Sports Performance+ is offering this program for 11 and 12 year olds, males and females, who are looking to move forward to higher-level training.  The participant must be committed to the times allotted, coachable, and enthusiastic to learn.  A basic athletic experience of sport is not required for the program, but will help in the learning of the techniques taught.

More details: The class will start Tuesday, February 2, and be held from 4pm – 5pm at South Central Sports Performance+ facility, located at 23 Mason Street in Laurel.  The facility is located in the back of the former South Central Wellness Center (across from the NAPA Store).

Cost for program must be paid prior to starting course. $150 each month or $300 total for program.

To reserve your spot, all waiver and consent forms and payment of must be submitted.  Enrollment packets are available at South Central Wellness Center, located at 1002 Jefferson Street, which is located at SCRMC’s main campus.  Once forms and payment are returned the office will provide verification to Sports Performance+.
