Healthy New Start with a Free Community Health Fair
With the start of a new year, many individuals have made resolutions to live a healthier life. In an effort to improve your health, South Central Regional Medical Center will host a free community health fair on Thursday, January 21st. The health fair will be held from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at South Central Place in Laurel. Free health screenings, interactive health education booths, cooking demonstrations and more will be provided to all who attend.
“We have health education, health information and several screenings available for all ages at no charge to the community,” says Karen Vanderslice, BSN, RN, Community Education Coordinator at South Central Regional Medical Center. “The health fair is completely free because all the expenses are paid by the South Central Health Care Foundation with funds raised from Art of Healing.”
The screenings for the event include:
“At South Central, we feel a healthy community is a prosperous community. We hope that people will take away vital information about prevention and early detection to live a healthier life in 2016” says Vanderslice.
