Mississippi is one of the unhealthiest states in the country with thirty percent of deaths related to heart failure. Family nurse practitioner, Donnie Scoggin, and the physicians at Ellisville Medical Clinic want to change that by educating their patients on how to live a healthy lifestyle. Since February is National Heart Month, Donnie Scoggin wants all of his patients to take responsibility for what they eat and what they do. To help you get started, there will be a free cholesterol screening at South Central Place in Laurel on Wednesday, February 12. To register, call (601) 399-0501.
