Our Philosophy

Alcohol and drug dependency is a chronic, progressive disease that affects individuals physically, emotionally, spiritually and socially.  We believe that treatment should offer solutions for these life-threatening problems.  The treatment process offers coping skills necessary to live a life free from mood-altering chemicals.  South Central Alcohol & Drug Detox focuses on living a life free of addiction one day at a time represented by a coin to remind participants of their purpose.

The Program

The South Central Alcohol & Drug Detox Unit offers primary treatment for the disease of chemical dependency.  We believe that addiction to alcohol, cocaine, prescription drugs, etc. is a chronic, progressive disease which renders the individual physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually dysfunctional.  South Central Regional Medical Center offers an introduction to the recovery process in a structured, drug-free environment.

The program is highly structured and consists of:

  • Physical examination
  • Psychiatric Evaluation
  • Diagnostic and psychological interview with a qualified Alcohol & Drug Dependency Counselor
  • Individual counseling and relapse prevention plan
  • Group therapy
  • Education on the disease of addiction
  • Film, Lecture and Study Materials
  • Spiritual counseling available
  • AA and NA in-house/outside meetings
  • Weekly After Care Support

Cooperative referral agreements exist with other treatment facilities, both public and private, for the referral of a patient who is determined to be inappropriate for treatment at South Central Alcohol & Drug Detox.  Referral agreements also exist with public and private extended care facilities for the appropriate referral of patients who have successfully completed primary treatment but are determined to be in need of continued care. These facilities include halfway houses and other secondary treatment facilities.
