Frozen Shoulder Patient
Posted on May 18, 2015
Lori Burson suffered from pain in her right shoulder. The daily tasks of getting dressed, fixing her hair, and even playing tennis were almost too much to bare. Lori dealt with this pain in all of her day to day activities. She was told that the only way to get relief would be shoulder surgery. Wanting a second opinion, Lori scheduled an appointment with Dr. Derrick Burgess. She had a restricted amount of movement in her shoulder. After getting an MRI, it showed not only did she have a frozen shoulder but a torn labrum as well. Dr. Burgess assured Lori that surgery was not the best way to fix her problem. He gave her several injections in the shoulder and followed up with physical therapy. Lori received physical therapy at SCRMC’s Wellness Center by Clark Raspberry. With Clark’s help, the pain in her shoulder was ultimately worked out without having to go through surgery. For more information or to set up an appointment, please call 601-649-5990.
