Skin cancer is very prevalent in the U.S., and it’s becoming more so in the younger generation, especially in young women.
Kate Garrison, nurse practitioner at South Central Dermatology, explains that “skin cancers are something we see often, and are extemely avoidable.”
“Unfortunately, just for going in the tanning bed one time, it increases your risk of melanoma by four percent. And that’s just getting in there one time,” states Kate.
South Central Regional Medical Center now offers an alternative to tanning in the sun with Tan Towels, a product that creates a sunless, healthy-looking tan.
