Catherine Farrar says, “Hospice is not a place but rather a way of caring that provides comfort to people at the end of life while offering support to their family.” The nurses visit once or twice a week when the patients are doing well. As the patient starts to decrease, they visit three to four times a week depending on what the patient needs. There is also a nurse on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Julie McNeil states, “Hospice means life. Hospice is about choosing to live on your own terms.”
