Knee pain is a common condition and the number one reason that most people undergo a total knee replacement. Orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Derrick Burgess explains, “Most people that undergo a total knee replacement is due to degenerative arthritis.” Arthritis can cause instability and cause the knee to give out on them.
To rid people of their knee pain, South Central Regional Medical Center offers joint camp, a comprehensive joint replacement program. Burgess explains to his patients, “When your knee is affecting your daily life, and you’re not able to do the things you enjoy or able to do your occupation, that’s probably when it’s time to have a knee replacement.”
