Derrick Burgess, MD, explains, “Joint camp is a program where patients come in, they meet with a physical therapist, get a home exercise program to perform prior to surgery, and also meet with the nurses on our orthopaedic floor…” Joint camp also educates the patient’s family member or loved one who is going to take care of the patient following surgery.
