The childbirth facility at South Central Regional Medical Center specializes in providing tailored individualized attention for mom, dad and the baby.  There is a labor and delivery room, then the mom goes to a room to recover in.  Mothers are provided breastfeeding education, and are encouraged to try and breastfeed 30 minutes after birth.  OB/GYN Doctor Rebecca Roberts states, “Our nursing staff in the nursery is very well trained and very caring.  Many of them are moms themselves.  The baby is well taken care of during that time.”  Once the mom is ready for the baby in her room, the baby will be delivered and will stay however long the mom would like.
