South Central Regional Medical Center serves as the hub of Jones county’s second largest employer, which has more than 1,800 employees.  It includes fourteen medical clinics, two large nursing homes, a wellness and outpatient rehabilitation center, and a home health and hospice division.  The community also has a comprehensive cancer program including hematology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, and cosmetic and plastic surgery.  EMServ, South Central’s emergency response team has a fleet of nineteen transport vehicles. The 2016 year saw the addition of new physicians in many areas. An inpatient epilepsy monitoring unit was added as well as an electronic medical record system. The diagnostic areas continue to see advancements.
