A cataract is a cloudiness or increasing opacity in the lens of the eye that typically develops as people age.
Dr. Judith Bradley, an ophthalmologist at South Central Regional Medical Center, states that people will tend to notice problems seeing to drive at night or problems leaving, and that the only treatment for a cataract is the surgical removal of a cataract.
Once a cataract is removed, a lens implant is installed. “Most patients notice that they do have better vision after the cataract surgery than really they did in prior years,” states Bradley.
