If you have trouble swallowing different consistencies of food or choke when you eat, you may want to take a modified barium swallow test.   Brittany Cockrell, speech language pathologist at South Central, states that this test is done in the radiology department by using different foods with different consistencies and textures.  Fortunately, there are many ways to help.  The goal is for patients to tolerate the least restrictive diet possible.
