Speech is one of the most important ways we express ourselves, and when a speech disorder hinders that ability, it can greatly affect that person’s quality of life. Lauren Clark, a speech language pathologist at South Central Pediatric Speech Therapy, says treatment is provided for children from infancy to adolescence. She says that she sees a variety of patients that have articulation disorders, which are speech sound disorders. They also have language disorders, whether they are receptive or expressive language. They can also treat swallowing and feeding disorders. They use different types of therapy methods including the traditional play-base therapy, structure tasks, and language tasks.
