SCRMC HealthBreak | Diagnosing and Managing Heart Disease

Posted on May 21, 2018

Heart disease is the number one killer of both women and men in America which is why it is important to maintain good heart health. Dr. David Sullivan at South Central Cardiology discusses the many ways in which he diagnoses and treats heart disease. He starts with a physical examination and taking a thorough history, he checks the patient’s vital signs to see if their blood pressure is elevated, and in most cases he does an EKG on a patient which helps discover problems. Fortunately, there are many options to treat heart disease and heart problems. He states that it is the little things a patient does such as eat healthier, exercise frequently, quit smoking, and take medicine as prescribed that cause the most change.
