ComfortCare Home Health in Laurel has an ultimate goal of returning the patient to his or her maximum level of function. Latisha Fisher is one of ComfortCare Home Health’s physical therapists, and says that they provide quality care and service to people who are homebound. She says that there are individuals that cannot get out and drive, and they need for physical therapists to come into the home to evaluate the scene, to assess the client, and to see what kind of needs they need in their home environment. Typically, they assess their bed mobility, they see how they function getting in and out of the bed, they do transfers, they train them to and from different services, and they walk them in their home environment to assess their function. The therapists at ComfortCare Home Health function as a team to best serve their patients. They have therapists that are certified in orthopedics and neurologic conditions. Home health provides an opportunity to bring care to patients in their environment, which improves safety and decreases fall risk.
