Ben Turner was selected as the Employee of the Month for October 2018. He is a Buyer Supervisor in Materiels Management and has been employed by South Central Regional Medical Center for just over 4 years. Ben said his favorite thing about working for SCRMC is, “my role at South Central keeps me busy thinking and affords me the opportunity to be able to help people who are helping people.”

Ben attended Hattiesburg High School and Millsaps College. He has two daughters, Kaylee, age 10, and Sophia, age 5. Ben said the proudest moments of his life were, “nailing my oral comprehensive exam in Philosophy to graduate from Millsaps, becoming a daddy, that Mother’s Day shift I ran the grill and got Chef’s blessing, and this last round of inventory – we nailed that one too.” Ben’s hobbies include activities with his daughters, including cooking, camping, and wandering about. His favorite book is John Currence’s first book, his favorite TV show is Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, and his favorite movie is The Princess and the Frog.

When asked who at SCRMC has influenced him to strive for excellence, Ben said, “all of my SCRMC family pushes me to deliver my best every time. Especially my folks in Accounts Payable and the ones upstairs taking care of the babies. And Justin Walters, that guy’s great.”
