After many years of service to the South Central Health System and the patients of South Central Mississippi, Dr. Hugh Stancill, OB-GYN with OB-GYN Group of Laurel, has retired. His retirement date was effective January 1st.

Dr. Stancill began his career in medicine with Jones County Community Hospital (and later South Central Regional Medical Center) during the summer of 1977 after completing his residency at University of Mississippi Medical Center in June of that year.

Doug Higginbotham, President and CEO at South Central Regional Medical Center, said, “Dr. Stancill has been an active member of our medical staff and served as medical staff president in 1992. He has cared for hundreds of patients over the years and delivered hundreds of babies during his time with us. I know I speak for all of the South Central family in wishing him a happy and healthy retirement.”
