Knee pain is a common condition and the number one reason that most people undergo a total knee replacement. More than 600,000 total knee replacements are performed each year in the United States. South Central Regional Medical Center’s orthopaedic surgeons have performed hundreds of knee replacements throughout the years. The common goal of the physician is to return the patient to the activities that pain has limited. “I explain to the patient, when your knee is affecting your daily life and you are unable to do things you enjoy, that is probably when it is time to have a knee replacement,” says Dr. Burgess. “We work together to develop a treatment plan to ensure the proper plan is made for each person.”
