Updated Visitation Policy – Effective January 18, 2022

Please see below for the latest in visitation policy at SCRMC. Open visitation is allowed for family members and friends of inpatients who are not in isolation due to COVID or other medical conditions. One patient visitor is allowed at a time. Hospital visitation hours are 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., 7 days a week. ICU visitation hours are 6 a.m., 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 6 p.m., 7 days a week, with a 20 minute visitation period. As with most hospitals, some restrictions still apply. Individuals under the age of 12 are not allowed to visit patients at SCRMC. All who enter South Central will be required to wear a mask.

Labor and Delivery Unit: patients who are in the Labor and Delivery Unit will be allowed to have one support person in the unit and patient room. Newborn babies remaining in the room with mothers may make it necessary to limit visiting on the Obstetrical floor.

Emergency Department:

  • South Central Emergency Department allows one patient visitor in a treatment room for non-COVID/isolated patients. This visitor must remain with the patient during the visit.
  • The Emergency Department does not allow visitors for COVID positive patients.
  • NO COVID positive visitors are allowed with patients.
  • NO children under the age of 12 may visit Emergency Department patients.
  • Inpatient Visitors must enter through main entrance of South Central Regional Medical Center, NOT Emergency Department entrance.

Isolated Patient Area: Isolated patient areas are designated in the hospital. No patient visitation will be allowed in these areas except for special clinical circumstances. Patients who require full time assistance or care will be allowed to have one care taker in the room with the patient at all times. This determination will be made by the admitting physician or nurse.

Outpatient Areas: One visitor, age 12 or older, is allowed in the hospital with patients having outpatient test or procedures. However, restrictions may apply within the outpatient department.  Visitors may wait in nearby waiting areas.

All patients and visitors who enter South Central will be required to wear a mask.
