SCRMC Lab Team Receives Champion Award

Posted on June 22, 2022

South Central Regional Medical Center congratulates our Laboratory Team on their completion of the 2022 Biosafety Preparedness Exercise. This exercise is implemented through the Mississippi Public Health Laboratory with the Mississippi State Department of Health. SCRMC’s Laboratory team achieved a Biosafety Preparedness Champion award. This signifies that our laboratory successfully and safely handled unknown, highly infectious agents in its laboratory for a potential real-world outbreak. This exercise demonstrates that our team’s biosafety and biosecurity practices are upheld and ensures that we are prepared to evaluate the risk of any unknown bio-threat.

Congratulations!
