I chose South Central because we make a difference in our hometown.
CJ Dennis, FNP, has been a member of the South Central Regional Medical Center family for nine years. In 2015, CJ joined the South Central Cancer Center as a Registered Nurse. When CJ was asked why she chose to become a nurse she said, “I am a compassionate person by nature, so the thought of being able to hold someone’s hand or give them a hug, but also teach them about their diagnosis brings me joy. I think patient education is vitally important to help heal a person. I love being able to teach and provide compassion when needed.”
While working as a nurse, she was encouraged to further her career. “Nursing is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference in a person’s life. I chose to further my career and become a Family Nurse Practitioner and specialize in hematology and medical oncology. I’ve worked for eight years in that field and wanted to be able to offer more care for my patients.”
When CJ completed school, she returned to South Central Cancer Center to continue providing services. This area is one of the many services in the health system that offers an opportunity to give back to others. By offering extensive healthcare services by qualified medical providers, our community thrives and our patients are cared for.
“South Central is a great place to work,” said CJ. “We have great benefits, flexibility within our roles and we are able to work in our hometown to provide care to patients who we know as friends or family. I chose South Central because we make a difference in our hometown.”
