South Central Regional Medical Center is pleased to recognize our employee, Tyler Whittington, RN, BSN, as the 2023 Spero Hospital Leadership award winner. The Spero Awards are hosted annually by the Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency (MORA). This event recognizes excellence in the donation process celebrates hospital partners, medical professionals, and community partners who help make the Donate Life mission possible in Mississippi.

Spero, when translated from Latin, means hope. MORA’s hope is the essence of what donation is all about for both transplant recipients and donor families. SCRMC is proud to be a participating hospital partner.

Tyler was presented the “Most Supportive Hospital Leadership” award by MORA. Tyler’s nomination stated, “He is the type of leader we all strive to be. He leads by example and ensures that his staff meets the donation referral criteria and follows all policies concerning donation. He makes himself available at all hours and is well respected by his peers and administration. He is truly an example of a quality leader.”

Congratulations to Tyler for this award. We thank you for being a leader and mentor in our health system and throughout the state.
