South Central is excited to welcome Craig Dungan, MD, Gastroenterologist, to the health system. Dr. Dungan is from Philadelphia, MS and graduated from Millsaps in Jackson, MS with a bac

helor of science in chemistry. He completed medical school at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, MS. Following medical school, Dr. Dungan completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, TN where he found his passion for Gastroenterology. He completed a fellowship at Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport, LA before returning to the area where he practiced in Meridian, MS for thirty years.

Before coming to South Central Dr. Dungan served as Gastroenterology department director at Oschner-Rush Hospital in Meridian. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Mississippi State Medical Association, and Mississippi Gastroenterology Association.

Dr. Dungan will be joining SCRMC where his primary role will be Gastroenterological Surgery.
