SCRMC Welcomes Two Hospitalists, Sam Dabit, DO, and William Buck, DO

South Central Regional Medical Center recently welcomed two hospitalists to the team, Sam Dabit, DO, and William Buck, DO. Dr. Dabit’s years of experience in a teaching hospital and Dr. Buck’s analytical and research-driven mentality on medicine, and their commitment to serving the community are assets to SCRMC.

Sam Dabit, DO, began his studies at Mississippi College where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and his Master of Science in Biological Sciences from Mississippi College. Dr. Dabit then obtained his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from William Carey University in 2012. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency training at Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg, Miss.

William Buck, DO, began his studies at Mississippi State University, where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics. He later obtained his Master of Biology in Medical Science from Mississippi College and his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from William Carey University in 2021. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency training at The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss.

Both physicians, before arriving at SCRMC, have served as adjunct faculty members at William Carey University. Dr. Dabit has worked in the Pine Belt as Associate Program Director for Merit Health Wesley’s Internal Medicine Graduate Medical Education Program; Dr. Buck has worked as Surgical and Clinical Researcher at the RANE Center at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson, Miss., prior to his time at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss.

In general, hospitalists provide care to patients in the hospital. They manage a wide range of medical conditions that hospitalized patients may have while at South Central. The addition of Drs. Dabit and Buck, to the medical staff is a continuation of South Central Regional Medical Center’s commitment to improving patient care.
