Life transitions can be hard not only for adults but also for children and adolescents. South Central Behavioral Health offers resources to support these individuals.
“A major life transition for children and teenagers can lead to many problems just like adults,” South Central child and adolescent psychiatrist Areeba Zamar, MD, said. “For example, It can lead to depression, it can lead to anxiety, it can lead to resorting to poor coping skills like substance abuse or just negative behaviors kind of like acting out. If you child is struggling with any kind of life transitions, whether it be a child or teenager, we have the capability to provide them with full services for an evaluation, diagnosis and treatment. So please bring your child or teenager so that we can help them.”
