SCRMC HealthBreak | Urgent Care vs. Emergency Department
Posted on December 15, 2025
Patients often find it difficult to decide if they need to go to Urgent Care of to the Emergency Department.
Ryne Sasser, PA-C, says, “For anyone that is experiencing severe or life-threatening symptoms, I would urge them to go to the Emergency Department to be evaluated or you can call 911. Some examples of life-threatening symptoms would be severe chest pain; severe shortness or breath; any signs of a stroke, such as numbness of weakness on one side of the body or slurred speech.”
