“I love my job because I am able to put education into practice. In each situation, each patient, I learn something new and I am to build my education with that.” – Keith Bales, RN
Keith Bales, RN, is an Intensive Care Unit nurse at South Central Regional Medical Center. Keith began his career at SCRMC as a Nurse Technician in 2007. Since then, he has received his registered nursing degree and now provides patient care to those in critical condition. “I really enjoy helping others,” said Keith. “The thing I enjoy the most is seeing former patients in the community. It means so much when I know they are healthy and fully recovered.”
In the ICU, there is no other way to provide care except through a team effort. “We spend 12 hours at a time with each other,” said Keith. “Each person working on the unit contributes major effort to the care of a patient. We all play a role and we all work toward the common goal of recovery.”
