Graduate Medical Education – Program Benefits

Below is a list of benefits our residents will receive while at South Central Regional Medical Center. This benefits summary is updated annually and may change. If a change occurs, residents will be notified.

Salary

• PGY1 $60,000
• PGY2 $62,500
• PGY3 $64,500

General

• Monogrammed lab coats, scrubs, and residency jacket provided
• Out of town rotation housing
• Free Gym Membership

Education

• One time education stipend $500
• Personal Subscription of Current Edition MKSAP
• Personal Subscription of Current UWorld (after completion of MKSAP twice)
• Reimbursement for the following:
• Licensure Exams (USMLE 3 / COMLEX 3)
• ABIM  or  AOBIM Certification Exam
• Mississippi State Medical Licensure Fee
• ACLS and BLS certification
• Professional Memberships (ACP and MSMA)

Technology

• Laptop Provided
• $60.00 monthly phone allowance
• Digital access to online medical resources

Facilities

• Complimentary meals in the physician dining room and lounge.
• Dedicated GME suite, which includes resident inpatient work rooms, conference room, classroom, two call/sleep rooms, a resident lounge, a kitchenette with coffee station and  a locker room.
• Wireless internet throughout the hospital, clinic, and offices.
• Complimentary secure parking for both the hospital and continuity clinic.

Time Off

• 20 PTO days annually
• Family Leave available
• 2 leave days for PGY1 USMLE 3 / COMLEX 3 Examination
• 5 educational leave days for PGY2 and PGY3 to attend conference
• 1 leave day for PGY3 ABIM or AOBIM Board Certification Examination
