While social media can be a powerful tool for connection, it can also contribute to harmful self‑perception over time.
“There have been studies that do show that children and teenagers are more negatively affected, especially girls are more affected with social media because, unfortunately, with social media comes a lot of comparisons,” South Central child and adolescent psychiatrist, Areeba Zamar, MD, said.
