SCRMC HealthBreak | Cancer Care – Remission

June is recognized as National Cancer Survivors Month, a time to celebrate strength, resilience and hope.
“A lot has changed in cancer over the last couple of decades, really,” Brett Barlow, MD, said. “The big news that came out this past year is that the American Cancer Society now says that 70% of people diagnosed with cancer are still alive at five years. That is big news and a lot of progress from where we used to be.”
Research also shows that there are lifestyle choices patients can make to help reduce the odds that their cancer will return.
South Central Cancer Center is proud to support our patients through every step of their journey, from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.
