South Central Foundation Hosts Annual Golf Tournament Benefitting ‘Where Care Begins’ Campaign
LAUREL, Miss. – October 30, 2026 – The South Central Foundation’s annual Golf Tournament, presented by Community Bank, brought together golfers, volunteers and community supporters to raise funds for the Foundation’s ‘Where Care Begins’ capital campaign, an initiative to enhance the Women’s & Children’s Unit at South Central.
Thirty teams participated in this year’s tournament at Laurel Country Club, demonstrating strong community support for the campaign and helping move the Foundation closer to its $2 million fundraising goal.
“We are grateful to the South Central Foundation Board for its leadership and commitment in bringing this year’s tournament to life, as well as to the participants, sponsors and community partners whose support continues to advance the mission of the Foundation,” said South Central Executive Director of Foundation & Marketing Susan Sanders. “Every supporter is helping strengthen the future of health care in our region.”

In addition to its annual golf tournament, the South Central Foundation hosts several events throughout the year to support its mission. The Teddy Bear Tea & Market will be held Saturday, Nov. 14 at South Central Place, with tickets available online at scrmc.com/foundation. Looking ahead, the Foundation will also host the Hope Hustle 5K and SC Foundation Clay Shoot in spring of 2027.
Community members can further support the Foundation through a variety of giving opportunities, including one-time donations, legacy gifts, purchasing a character on the Foundation’s Wonder Wall, or buying and painting a ceiling tile to be displayed in the Women’s & Children’s Unit.
Funds raised through these initiatives help advance the Foundation’s mission of supporting programs, services and capital improvements that enhance patient care across the organization.
