Why Choose Buprenorphine & Naloxone?

  • It can be used for Opiate addiction.
  • We have also found that buprenorphine & naloxone can be used to control and treat pain.
  • Buprenorphine can be prescribed by a licensed medical professional and taken at home, unlike other methadone programs.
  • Individuals who choose buprenorphine & naloxone find that the treatment program allows participants to continue activities of daily living.

Intake

Our physician, Dr. Amandeep Singh, will conduct a comprehensive substance dependence assessment and observational exam. He will cover all side effects and aspects of Suboxone. Treatment expectations and issues involved with the program will be discussed and any questions will be answered.

Induction

The patient will be converted from their current opioid (heroin, methadone, or prescription painkillers) onto buprenorphine & naloxone. At the time of induction, the patient will be asked to provide a urine sample to confirm the presence of all opioids and any other drugs. The patient must arrive for the first visit experiencing opioid withdrawal symptoms.

Every individual has different tolerances and reactions to Suboxone, therefore we will work with you to manage medications and adjust until withdrawal symptoms or cravings are no longer experienced. Urine drug screening is typically required for all patients at each visit during the beginning phase of treatment.

Stabilization

Once the appropriate dose of buprenorphine & naloxone has been established for the patient, they will stay at this dose until steady blood levels are achieved and the patient can function normally. A physician and the patient will discuss treatment options from this point forward.

Maintenance

Treatment compliance by the patient as well as patient progress will be monitored. Participation in some form of behavioral counseling (Counselor, NA, Church) is strongly recommended to ensure the best chance of the treatments success. This phase of treatment can last anywhere from weeks to years. The length of the treatment is determined both by the patient and the physician.

Supervised Withdrawal

As treatment progresses, the doctor and patient may decide that supervised withdrawal is an appropriate option. During this phase, the physician will gradually taper your buprenorphine & naloxone dose over time, making sure that the patient does not experience any withdrawal symptoms or cravings. Our team of physicians have had tremendous success and years of experience helping patients eliminate drug abuse and opioid addiction. We can and will assist you or a loved one.
